"Customers beware of Omar Torres and this State Farm office. Let me explain. I’ve been a loyal State Farm customer for over 20 years. When my previous agent, Bob Goldin, retired, my account was transferred to Omar. Bob was personable, calling me and my family on holidays and birthdays, which made a real difference. Omar, however, has been distant and unhelpful throughout my experience with the office. I’ve had a clean driving record with no tickets or accidents for over a decade. Last summer, an elderly driver hit my parked car while trying to straighten his vehicle. I documented the incident on video, and Liberty Mutual, his insurance, found him 80% at fault. Based on this outcome, the claims adjuster with State Farm initially told me the other driver was fully liable, 100%. Months passed with the claim still unresolved. When I contacted Omar, he seemed unconcerned, offered no updates, and was unresponsive, not returning two of my calls. Then, last week I received a notice in the mail that State Farm had decided to change their ruling and assign 50/50 fault in the accident, which increased my rates by $75 a month—even though I was the one hit. When I called Omar and asked why State Farm disregarded Liberty Mutual’s 80/20 fault assessment, he was dismissive, even snickering disrespectfully during our conversation. Throughout the experience his office failed to return multiple calls, and when I mentioned this, he accused me of lying. This unprofessional behavior over a minor fender-bender has been disappointing, to say the least. If you're looking for a professional, find someone else.
